The GoDaddy Bowl (formerly the GMAC Bowl) has built a reputation of fielding some of the most competitive and exciting games of the bowl season. The Bowl, repeatedly rated as one of the top 10 bowl games to watch, has seen sell-out crowds, record breaking performances and last second heroics!
In the 2000 Bowl, Southern Mississippi quarterback Jeff Kelly threw a 29-yard touchdown pass with eight seconds remaining to lift the Golden Eagles over 13 th ranked TCU. In the highest scoring game in college football bowl history, the Thundering Herd of Marshall, led by quarterback Byron Leftwich, overcame a 30 point halftime defeciet to rally past East Carolina 64-61 in double overtime to win the 2001 Bowl.
